Background
Dr. Charles Patrick Makoutodé is a health economist and public health specialist with over 20 years of experience in research, teaching, and consultancy in health policy and systems. He holds a PhD in Environmental Management with a specialization in Health Economics and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in Health Systems and Environment at the Regional Institute of Public Health (IRSP-CAQ) in Benin, where he is also Head of the Department of Health Policy and Systems.
Experience
He has coordinated several undergraduate and master's programs in public health, health logistics, sexual and reproductive health, and health systems management. Dr. Makoutodé has authored around thirty scientific publications. He serves as a consultant in health financing, economic evaluation, universal health coverage, planning and monitoring & evaluation, and sexual and reproductive health rights. He is also deeply involved in emergency health response efforts, serving as a lead trainer and expert within the WHO-supported Rapid Response Teams (EIR).
